Tonight, I was having a royal pity party for myself – no good reason at all.
I am so very blessed. My family is healthy. But you know those nights that you just really fight that lonely feeling?
The worst part for me is when I can’t quite put my finger on what is going on. When I can’t identify it, I can’t “fix” it.
As I sat in my chair, I caught up on a few of my favorite blogs and I had decided to write a post on tackling loneliness.
Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
That verse was going to be my launching point. I leaned back and whispered a prayer that God would use this post to help someone feel a little less lonely.
As I was looking for the perfect ‘lonely’ picture, I ran across a folder of pictures that I never posted.
I was greeted by this amazing smile…
It was before I was posting Riley’s picture online, so I guess I just filed it away for ‘someday’.
Well, tonight, it was a true blessing.
He and I are still figuring each other out. Some days I am the best thing since sliced bread. Other days, I am that lady that has to put him to bed with his brother and sister are still up.
I needed these reminders: Reminders of days at mom’s house, when we were introducing Riley to the entire family.
When he would get antsy, I would take him for walks outside.
Tonight, I took a hint, left my lonely blog post behind, and walked outside to look at the clouds and the stars.
Between the pictures and the stars, my heart feels full again.
Psalm 94:19
In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.
Riley had discovered blue Gatorade and loved that his tongue turned colors. Just seeing this series of pictures changed my mood immediately.
If you are struggling with loneliness, I am so sorry.
If I can lift up a specific prayer request, please feel free to email me. I’d be honored to join you in prayer.
I am praying for YOU today – yes you. I am praying this verse over anyone who stumbles on this post…
Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
