It’s already been said…

“The modern habit of saying, ‘Every man has a different philosophy; this is my philosophy and it suits me’–the habit of saying this is mere weak mindedness. A cosmic philosophy is not constructed to fit a man; a cosmic philosophy is constructed to fit a cosmos. A man can no more possess a private religion than he can possess a private sun and moon.” – G.K. Chesterton

Sometimes, in the car, the kids ask me the most amazing questions.

Why do some people think some things are right and we disagree?

Why do some people believe that we are wrong in what we believe?

As I was grasping for words to explain and answer these questions, I remembered that these questions have already been answered.

We, as a society, seem to go in circles. We keep asking the same questions. When we fail to study the answers that have already been given, we are bound in the chains of present day.

We have the freedom to step out of the current day look at the entire timeline of faith.

I’ve heard a quote a lot lately – “Live and Let Live”. If I understand the quote correctly – it basically means – you do your thing and I’ll do my thing.

That sounds nice. Sorta.

But here’s the deal. I believe that this world is not the end. I believe that there is more. I believe that there is an eternity that waits for us.

If I was to “Live and Let Live”, I’d be doing you a huge disservice. I have seen the grace and the peace and the love firsthand. I know that there is rest for your weary heart. I know that there is a forgiveness beyond all measure.
