When we found out how quickly Riley’s adoption was going to go, I started to plan a celebration. I wanted to throw a party for Riley, Julia, and Nate to really mark the day he takes our last name.

I decided to call it ‘Family Day’. I steered away from calling it a ‘Gotcha Day’. I’ve heard that used a lot in adoption circles, but I didn’t feel like it was a good fit for our situation. His grandmother and great-aunt are still a very beautiful and present part of his life, and I want to honor them in everything we do.

Signazon.com contacted me and asked if there was a way they could help us celebrate the adoption. I was so excited and touched! I truly felt that they were sharing in our joy about everything.

This sign will be so cute hanging behind the table I have imagined – full of baby photos of Riley, Julia, and Nate.

As most of you know, the original timeline – that September would be the latest everything would be final – has come and gone. We are still going forward with everything, but we are not sure when everything will be finalized. I didn’t want to wait to share this company with you any longer. They have been so generous and the sign is amazing! The quality is sturdy and it was very easy to hang.

I have plans to have a Family Day every single year – to look through baby books and talk about how thankful we are to have our kids in our lives. And now, I will look forward to hanging this sign every single year!
