On Wednesday, Nate and I put on our Captain American pins and cheered loudly for #TeamCap. We do love IronMan, but when forced to chose, well #America.

We absolutely loved it. This was my favorite Avenger movie yet. Fight scenes, chase scenes, dialogue, and a little romance – perfection.

I think my absolute favorite dialogue was about how to determine the right thing to do. There is some great discussion in there, especially for tweens and teens.

Do I wish there was less cursing? Yes. Absolutely.

Was it bad enough to keep any of them from seeing the movie? Yes. For our family, 12 is about the youngest I would take after a discussion about cursing.

How was the violence? If you’ve seen the other Avenger movies, they are at the same violence level, maybe even a little less.

On June 18, 2015, on the backlot of Pinewood Atlanta Studios, the first scenes of the historic Civil War mash-up began shooting, pitting the Avengers against each other with teams led by Captain America and Tony Stark. Filmmakers nick-named the classic battle the “Splash Panel,” because it was like a double-panel illustration in a comic book. The “Splash Panel” is one of Marvel’s most epic scenes with the most interaction ever seen in a Marvel film. The sequence was shot on IMAX cameras to give fans an unforgettable immersive experience.

Synopsis: Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

Julia (16) would absolutely love it.

Riley (5) is too young to see the movie, with the violence and cursing mentioned above.
