Sometimes you travel for work.
Sometimes you stand on your feet for three days straight.
Sometimes when you get in the taxi, you just want to ride to the airport in silence.
{Scroll down to the bottom for the updates}
But then… the driver rolls down his window for EVERY homeless person he sees in Denver, CO.
He gives away the tip you just gave him for picking you up at the convention center.
He tells you he is from southern Ethiopia.
He opens up and shares with you that he is an ESL teacher that has 15 brothers and sisters.
He is driving a taxi to support them through college (four of them).
He explains how giving back to the community is his way of life.
He and his friend have started a tutorial program in CO and he is passionate about.
They are helping ESL students from ANY country keep up in their studies.
They hold summer tutorials with about 20 children each evening to keep up ~ so they are prepared for next school year.
Then, the question…. Did I know anyone that could help?
Did I know anyone that could help?
I assumed that he was talking about technology… whiteboards, student response systems, content.
NOPE. He just needs paper, pens, rulers, calculators ~ the basics.
If you want to help… please email me or leave a comment.
There are no great things, only small things with great love.
