Having the cutest red head in the Valley of the Sun, means that I’ve had to get serious about sun care. A few weeks ago, I was invited by Whole Foods Market to learn more and listen to presentations by Goddess Garden and Badger.

I left the event with loads of great information.

I think the most valuable piece of information for me was about broad spectrum sunscreens. I had never heard of this and learned that only broad spectrum sunscreen offers protection from both UVB sun rays, which is linked to skin cancer and can cause redness and burning, and UVA rays, which can cause skin cancer and premature skin aging. Did you know that there were UVB rays and UVA rays? (See?! You are already smarter than me!).

So now, when I tell you the American Academy of Dermatology recommends that everyone wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen (water-resistant when appropriate), with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 30, you won’t just pay attention to the number – right? You’ll also pay attention to the words broad-spectrum.

Just in time for summer they are having a Sun Care 4 Day Promotion – May 23rd to May 26th – 30% off Sun Care products!

Be sure and stop by the Paradise Valley store to check out the sale. Connect with them on Facebook and Twitter.
