The birthdays – Riley {10}, Sebastian {4}, and Mary Alice {6}

Once upon a time, I was amazing at posting birthday celebrations the same week, or that day even! But alas, I have a page full of excuses so here we are – right in the middle of the birthday run and posting three at a time!

My family of seven birthdays line up as follows:

February – 1

March – 2

April – 2

May – 2

I brilliantly lined these up to fall exactly before Mother’s Day occurs, guaranteeing me at least one bouquet of wildflowers and a handmade card.

Sweet Riley had a very, very hard day at school that day. We celebrated his birthday by going out to dinner with Brian’s parents and letting him have his very first Mountain Dew (what all 10 year old boys dream of). It ended on a good note, thanks to Aunt Theresa coming through in the clutch and buying him the perfect present – a robotic cat. Thank goodness, for Aunt Theresa – the best gift giver there ever was.

Because of the very, very bad day, I didn’t take any pictures. Looking back, I’m sad that I didn’t, but it was probably the right move.

Dear Sebastian turned four and wanted a double chocolate cake with ‘smarshmellows’.

It was the most lopside-dy cake you ever did see, but he was perfectly happy with it!

And this sunshine turned six. She drew me what she wanted for a cake and after 478 iterations we settled on a shooting star.

And here we are again. I’m shocked that the years are going by quickly, again. Time is such a beautiful mystery. I’m so thankful of the constant reminder that there must be an eternity because time, as consistent as it is, has very little rhyme or reason to how quickly it passes.
