Disclosure: I am a Family Christian blogger. I received a free copy of this movie to facilitate my review. It is my honor to share news with you from a store that I enjoy and support!
There are so many options for little ones. There are shows about robots and dragons and puppets and princesses. Some of these shows, I can turn on and get a load of dishes done. Some of these shows, I sit down and watch with them so that I can turn it off if the content isn’t appropriate for their eyes. Some of these shows, I will never understand why they were created for children.
My rules are straightforward. The show that they choose to watch cannot be violent or hateful. It must be good. Yes, it can be silly. It doesn’t always have to be educational. But there is a huge bonus if it teaches something – a lesson in kindness or obedience will always have my vote over other shows.
This is where VeggieTales comes in! We have been fans since Julia was little. When we lived in Denton, Texas there was a Christian bookstore across from Golden Chick. The owner had put a VW Bug inside and removed the front seat. There was a backseat and a TV that always played VeggieTales. You can bet that it was one of our absolute favorite places to shop! I love knowing that my children are watching something that they will absolutely enjoy and learn something from. Yes, we still sing ‘O Where is My Hairbrush’ from one of the first VeggieTales movies we ever watched.
Riley and I sat down and watched Beauty and the Beet a few days ago. We loved it! I love how VeggieTales takes familiar stories and adds their own fun twist!
From Family Christian:
In Beauty and the Beet, Mirabelle and her traveling family band, the Veggie Tones, are determined to make their next gig at Vegetable Square Garden. On their journey, a fierce winter snowstorm hits, and the family gets stuck at a run-down resort!
Mr. Beet, the grumpy manager makes them sing – and clean – for their supper. Why is Mr Beet such a beast? And can Mirabelle’s kindness change him? Find out in this hilarious and heartwarming VeggieTales story of unconditional love.
It reminded me a little bit of the movie Beauty and the Beast and a little bit of the movie That Thing You Do. AND Kellie Pickler, famous country music artist, plays one of the lead characters! VeggieTales always has great music and her voice with their songs is just incredible! Riley loved the chef and thought he was very silly!
From December 15-24, it will be sale priced at $9.99 at Family Christian. Be sure and stop by and get your copy!
