They are finished with school and summer has officially begun! We are on week one – and my kids know what this means…
The annual cleaning of the rooms.
Day 1 – closet
Day 2 – desks
Day 3 – books
Day 4 – clothes
Day 5 – Toys
(Yes, I am giddy as I type this. Yes, I realize that makes me Monica from Friends.)
We are on day 2 and I’m pretty sure the house sighed with relief when I carried about 500 pounds of trash out the door today. How does it happen? Every single year, I find hidden valentines from first grade. Our rule is – if you remember it and it makes you smile, you are welcome to keep it. Otherwise – out the door it goes.

I’m so happy to have them home. It’s always nice to have their laughs around. And Riley LOVES the company. Of course, I know that in three weeks I could be offering to pay you to take them just for ten minutes, but for now – all is well and we have a lot of popcorn and lemonade to get through!

The end of school was pretty big for us this year. Nate is finished with elementary school. Julia is finished with middle school.
Translation: I am the mother of a high school-er. Wow. When did that happen?
Have a great week everyone!
Kate

Congratulations on another year of hard work for the two oldest! That sounds like a great cleaning plan. They can come do my house next if you really need a break. Ha ha. 🙂 Happy summer!
Awww thats amazing! Congratulations. In here school is still on-going but will end soon too. I cant wait to have my baby with me before he starts primary school =) #WeekEndLinkUp
Merlinda, Have a wonderful end of the school year!
would you like to organize me? oh I heard that clear into south Texas. wow. I feel the love. your energy always astounds me.
Ah, just seeing your list of tasks gets me excited. Love to clean and organize…sometimes! I’m actually doing the opposite- with everyone home all summer there’s no way I can purge all the junk, so I’m waiting until August, when I can use nap time to go through everything!
