Disclosure : I was provided the opportunity to visit the Arizona Science Center and Lost Egypt exhibit through a campaign with Blended Extended. All opinions are my own.

As the heat rises in Arizona, any air conditioned, kid friendly ideas are a huge hit around this house! The Arizona Science Center in downtown Phoenix is hosting the Lost Egypt exhibit through September 1, 2014.

It is pretty rare that one exhibit has activities that keep all three of my littles entertained (ages 14, 11, and 3).

They loved building the pyramid together. Be sure and look in the middle as you undo the pyramid for a secret surprise!

Have you ever wondered how they pulled the huge stones to the pyramids? They have a tug of war set up to show you that even a three year old could pull with their unique invention.

Now this part amazed me. That is a real mummy. Not an example, not a prop, not a model of one. That is the real deal. (Yes, it says no photos allowed, but since it was media day, they allowed us to take pictures!).

I think I may have been more excited about this part than the kids, but maybe as they get older and learn how truly rare this experience is, they’ll remember how their cool mom took them to see a real mummy once 🙂

Be sure and visit Sarah the camel for me. Tell her we all said “hello”!

  1. I really love how they have some hands on activities to really get the kids excited. My kids are probably too young to fully appreciate seeing a mummy, but they would love to climb on a camel and do the tug of war and build a pyramid. I love that the AZ Science Center is so hands on!

  2. It would be interesting to learn how they pulled the huge stones to the pyramids. It’s great knowing that they made it kid friendly. The Egypt Exibit is something my 9yr old daughter is anxious to go see.

  3. My daughter is always interested in learning new things plus my Husband and his father love all things having to do with Egyptians so this would be a fun and educational trip.

  4. We have not been to the science center in a while. I’d love to check out the new exhibit. I think my son would love it.

  5. My grandson would love to see this! Love the hands on exibits!

  6. I would love to see the real mummy. I think that is pretty exciting.
