On Memorial Day, Brian asked that we take the kids up to the National Veteran’s Cemetery. All of our grandfathers are veterans and Brian’s grandmother was a WAVE, so we come from a very patriotic family.

I can’t tell you how many battlefields I visited during family vacations growing up. My father is a very active member of the Sons of the American Revolution, so 4th of July Parades are very big around our house.

As we drove up to Cave Creek, AZ National Veteran’s Cemetery, I was AMAZED at how packed the cemetery was. It was so very moving. You could hardly find a place to pull in and every grave had a flag. The kids were so very respectful. I was very moved by their attitude and willingness to participate in remembering those who gave our lives for our freedom.
