Whenever I think of Riley, I can’t help but think about Disneyland. He loves the characters so much. Whenever he saw one, he would run up and hug it. I think he would have been perfectly happy not riding any rides, but just meeting characters all day.
When I was searching Hallmark’s 2014 Dreambook, this ornament just jumped out at me! The ornament shows Mickey and Pluto and says “Best Pals”. I’m pretty sure that Riley thinks that Mickey is his best pal.
This weekend, we put up the tree, hung the lights, and I called Riley over. I told him this was a special present, just for him. This was his very own ornament. I told him he could put the first ornament on the tree this year and he was just beaming!
I love picking out ornaments that have special meanings for our kids. My first Christmas after I was married, mom gave me a box of ornaments from my childhood to use on our tree. It meant so much to me. Many of those ornaments were Hallmark Keepsake ornaments. I’m already looking forward to being able to surprise the kids with their own box of ornaments someday.
