On Sunday, we celebrated Mary Alice’s one month day!
The most common question I get is – “how is Riley doing with her?” He is amazing. He is so gentle and loving. He made up a song for when she cries that goes, “Mary Alice ca-a-alm down” (said with a Texas accent). He is precious with her and I am so thankful for that.
Julia and Nate are doing great with her, too. They are still in school, so I think the adjustment has been pretty minor for them so far.
Between their school and my MOPS group (Mothers of Preschoolers), I think we’ve only cooked three times in the last month. We are so blessed to have such a supportive network of friends. With Julia, I was much more isolated. I was working full time and Brian was still in college. Having this amazing support has made such a huge difference.
If you are a new mamma, please find a group to join. It could be a playgroup, the gym, a church group… anything. I can’t tell you how much it has helped me.
And now – I present to you, the best shots after one hour of trying. Julia was helping me, which made it so fun. I gave up trying to get the traditional smiley or sleepy picture and we rolled with it.

Have a great week!

how quickly babies enter our hearts and lives and forever change the way we view and treat the world. She is so beautiful and the pictures are incredible.
