Like walking into a cloud…

Scenario:

Your life seems grand and glorious (most definitely said in a British accent).

You pinch yourself that after some hard and weary times, that you seem to be standing under some sort of rainbow. You thank God every minute, almost nervous to take a breath and watch another second of happiness pass by.

As silly as it sounds, you want to freeze time. Life can move forward – if only it can be this perfect tomorrow and the next day.

Suddenly:

A phone call or knock on the door.

Enter stage right:

A hurting relative or friend.

Your first reaction is sadness. You are truly concerned and want to make everything ok.

Your second reaction is guilt. You have this strange twist of guilt.

You remind yourself that the second reaction is not valid. The Advocate brings love, power and a sound mind – not guilt.

You reach out your hand – not exactly knowing what to expect. It is as if you are walking into a cloud.

The journey ahead with your friend seems hazy at best, but you are there. You are ready and willing. God has prepared solid ground in your life so that you may be a caretaker for those around you. It is your turn to give – give your time, give your love and give yourself. Be tired. Be weary. Walk through this with them and care for them.

Grab their hand and walk into that cloud.

Hugs,

Kate
