Oh Mary Alice, you are a treasure.

When I share your story with people, they are so happy. I cannot tell you how many times I have told your story and people respond with tears or by saying “God is good. All the time.” When I think about God’s hand in Riley’s adoption, then in your birth, I want to hand out flyers. I want to stand on the corner near a university with bright yellow paper… you know, like when they are trying to get you to come hear some horrible band play at the coffee shop at 10:37pm at night, except people read the paper and glance up to the heavens. For one brilliant moment they connect with our Savior and wonder if miracles really are still happening.

Then, they glance over at me and I nod. And they know. They know that miracles still happen.

Oh how I love you, Miss Mary.

Riley is your biggest fan. He just loves you to pieces. This past month he has started saying, “Mary is my bestie.” It’s pretty dang cute. You are my first little one that doesn’t mind grass on your feet. As soon as the front door is opened, you crawl as quickly as possible toward that opening. I can’t wait to watch you grow!
