Grandma Thompson

Virginia Lee Thompson

African violets and the perfect shade of pink nail polish.

A drawer full of juicy fruit gum when we came to visit.

She would gush over how much she loved my daddy.

What-a-burger on a normal day, Jason’s Deli after church, and Red Lobster on fancy occasions.

Drives out to Mustang Beach.

Old movies and Disney cartoons.

Square dancing and clogging.

Her dog Bonnie and all of her cats.

Singing soprano in the church choir her entire life.

This is what I remember.

Grandma Thompson went home to be with Jesus early this morning. I’m sure Grandpa was waiting at the gates for her with her picture tucked in his pocket.

  1. What a lovely tribute to you Grandma. I’m sorry for your loss, but rejoice with you that she is reunited with her love, your Grandpa, in their forever home with Jesus.

  2. Prayers and comfort in the hope of the resurrection! xxoo

I hope and pray you are able to travel for the funeral. Godspeed.
