Bath-time might be my very favorite part of the day.
He likes to sing in the bath – and oh, that makes me so happy He also loves bubbles, which makes everything better.
So here we go – how about a little Q&A….
Q: If you are fund-raising for his adoption, why did you take a trip to Florida and Disney World?
A: Totally fair question. I think when you are fund-raising for something in particular, you open yourself up to questions about how the money is (or will be) spent.
To say it bluntly, I am very blessed. My parents wanted to take my family and my brother’s family on a trip this summer to celebrate my mother’s retirement. They have been planning and saving for this forever, so they paid for everything – airfare, hotel, food, Disney. Yup, I am totally spoiled.
Brian and I sincerely appreciate all of you who are financially and prayerfully supporting us on this journey. We are very careful with our funds and promise to be good stewards of all funds sent to Riley. Yes, we eat meals at home and clip coupons.
Yes, it is absolutely ok to ask. No, it does not upset me at all. I want to always be open and honest with you.
Q: How long has he been with you now?
A: Riley will have been with us (sleeping under our roof) for four months on August 12th.
Q: Does it still feel strange to have him there with you?
A: Yes, it is still a little strange, but every day I find myself a little less surprised to be changing a diaper or stepping over Thomas the Train.
Q: Is night time any better?
A: Yes, he is sleeping through the night now – thank heavens!
Q: Who is his favorite?
A: No, I am not his favorite – it is daddy 🙂
Q: When will everything be final?
A: The home study is completed and we are just waiting on a court date. I promise to keep everyone posted when we receive it.

I know I’ve said it before – but to all of you who are cheering for our journey – thank you!
This is love.

We are blessed and so thrilled to be able to do this with the kids. We loved every minute we got to spend with them and make memories. We know how much Our grandparents meant to us.
They enriched our lives and shaped our attitudes. We hope to do the same. Next year a new adventure.
So far the kids have indulged us. We try not to interfere too much and we love the memories. They fill and lift us on low or slow days.
You are amazing Kate. I love reading these updates and seeing you give your love to the world through another person.
Great faces!
