A few weeks ago, a Substack was recommended to me that caught my attention – The Asbury House, historically grounded fictional letters from the saints.
Yes, please! I was immediately fascinated and dove into the letter ‘The Visit | Letter I from Mary’. The letter was stunning and almost familiar. Deacon John’s writing is captivating! Join me as I learn more about his journey to becoming a Deacon and The Asbury House!
About John:
John LaDuca is a Catholic deacon, writer, husband, and father with a particular interest in the human lives behind the saints, the ordinary behind the extraordinary. Through fictional correspondence rooted in history, Scripture and Christian tradition, his writing explores the fears, relationships, responsibilities, and questions that can disappear beneath time, devotion, and legend. What began as Asbury House, a Substack sharing these letters, has evolved into a planned series of physical keepsake collections, beginning with Letters from Nicholas.
