Today, I was sitting in the floor, listening to Ina Garten and wrapping presents.
(Seriously, is she not the most amazing person to watch cook? You may also know her as the Barefoot Contessa. You can tell she loves to teach others – my kind of lady!)
Well, I got the giggles.
Years ago, my best friend Jen and I earned money towards church summer trips by wrapping presents for people. There was a list of “chores” you could do and wrapping presents was one of them.
You could also clean houses. (I will NEVER forget being asked to scrub a floor with a toothbrush.)
You could be a waitress at a holiday party. (This is where I learned about mini-oven quiches, cream cheese covered in Raspberry Chipotle dressing and little party spirals).
But, you could also wrap presents. I was terrible. I have no patience for making the corners nice and neat or cutting in a straight line. My presents always sort of had a puffy, rushed quality to them.

My dearest Custer Road friends, if I ever wrapped your presents – I am terribly sorry. But, thank you for the memories and the giggles.

thanks for giving me the giggles today! 🙂 good memories
I hear you…wrapping away (had to stop and take a blog break though;) It’s not my favorite thing to do, but the wrapathon continues today until it’s all done 🙂
