Just one more look…

This was a good one.

You know?

Just a really, really good Christmas.

We were in Houston, going back and forth, and it was just really, really good.

(Oh. I said that already? Sorry.)

I don’t think I cooked one meal. How is that even possible?

Between my brother, my mom, Mr. B and my in-laws, I just stuck happily to dish duty.

There was sleeping in.

There were lots and lots of walks.

There was joke telling and family story telling.

Oh, I think one of my favorite parts was hearing everyone answer Mr. B’s question:

“What was the most treasured ‘thing’ you ever received on Christmas?”

His was a toy from his Granny.

My grandmothers was a bicycle that she shared with her sister.

My mothers was a doll.

It was the stories that went with the answer that warmed me.

I spent a lot of time with Grandma White in the nursing home. (The kids call her G.G.).

We played a lot of card games and told a lot of stories.

I want to thank you all for your prayers for her. She is doing so great.

She is standing more and more every day and getting so much of her strength back.

My grandparents from Corpus drove up again.

Can you believe it? Grandpa is 91 and has a driver’s license. But that is a story for another day.

Today I am content, just looking over pictures from the holidays and smiling.

Today I am thankful for my husband and children and for all the love they give me.

Today I am humbled, just to have the honor to serve Him.

Hugs and hugs,

Kate

  1. Kate, so glad ou had such a lovely holiday. And what’s with Texas still letting 91yo people drive? My grandma has hers too, and likely will when she’s 92.

  2. So happy you had a peaceful holiday, but we missed you in AZ. Welcome back!

  3. I just saw how much taller Julia is than me. Oh my, when did that happen?

  4. Um, just wondering if anyone has ever told you
that Julie is your MINI ME.
    If not, consider it done.
    🙂

  5. Watching my babies and hugging all of you can you feel it?
