Andrew + Laura = Super Fun Visit

DSC_4728

You may remember Andrew and Laura’s beautiful wedding last year…

Well, they came out to the desert to visit us.

You should know some things about Laura…

Laura was one of my dearest friends in college ~ so dear she was one of my maids of honor at my wedding (yes, there were two… it worked for us).

She loves the same things I love. She loves poetry and architecture and letters and Jane Austen and Drew Barrymore. She happened to be Mr. B’s sister which made it even better.

Laura holds a very precious place in my heart and always will.

She and Andrew arrived on a Thursday and that Friday, right after work, we took a family style road trip.

We headed north to Flagstaff and cooler weather!

I have to drive on these trips… I am a nervous Nelly driving in the mountains and I do much better if I am the driver. I know…. control freak much?

We pulled into Flagstaff and had just enough time to make it to dinner and then the Lowell Observatory. Give me a beautiful view, sweet company and good food I am in heaven.

My heart swells three sizes and a permanent smile is on my face.

I will crack silly jokes and try to be overly accommodating to everyone. It’s how I roll.

We ate at the Downtown Diner in Flagstaff… great advice Heather! It was perfect for us.

While the boys waited for the food, sweet baby J, Aunt Laura and I wandered around the nearby shops. (I’m not great at sitting still….)

The story we write for her is the one she will retell to her children.

Pictures like these captivate my heart and make me want to write the most lovely story anyone has ever heard.

Ever.

The Lowell Observatory.

They discovered Pluto.

Wow.

I saw planets through a century old telescope. I saw the rings of Jupiter. Not on a postcard or a picture book. My eyes. My special eyes. (Name that commercial).

Nate and I walked slowly and took in the Nature…

Um, all the Nature…

Have a wonderful day dear friends!
