Today, Julia and Nate were home from school and Brian had the day off. We threw together a makeshift picnic and headed to Bartlett Lake. Seventy-five degrees, no parking fees today in honor of National Parks day, and pringles. That just might be my perfect day.

Brian took the bigger kids exploring and Riley and I just hung out at water’s edge. I wrote a few overdue thank you notes and he played with rocks and sticks and nerf toys.

The bigger kids had success. They found an island to explore and brought home a few shells. (Which reminds me – I forgot to lay them outside in the sun… they are probably a stinky mess in someones jean’s pocket right about now.)

I hope you had a wonderful day!
Much love,
Kate

Kate, what beautiful stories you tell through your photos. As a former DSS (Child Protective Services) attorney, adoption stories always make my heart go pitter-patter! Praying for you, Riley and your whole family as you wait to finalize. Looking forwarding to getting to know you through the Sits Challenge!
Thank you so much for stopping by! We sincerely appreciate your prayers!
Kate, I’ve ALWAYS wanted to live in Arizona. I’ve said as much to another Arizona blogger I follow (African Kelli) … especially when it’s freezing cold and impossibly windy here in the Midwest. Loved seeing these photos …
Shana, we love it here! The summer gets tough – but it is so worth it for days like this!
