With Julia, I had to return to work after six weeks. With Nate, I had to return to work after twelve weeks. I can remember clearly going into work an hour early so that I could take three twenty minute breaks during the day to pump. I remember sitting in the restroom with a very noisy battery operated pump. Every so often, the battery would run out at the wrong moment, and my goodness, was that painful.

I was so thankful that both workplaces allowed me to take these breaks. It gave me great peace of mind to leave milk for the kids when I couldn’t be there to nurse them.

Now that I work from home as a blogger and photographer, I am able to nurse Mary Alice. I haven’t needed to pump yet. Brian and I have talked about pumping to have a supply built up. I’d like to have a backup supply in case I get sick and need to take antibiotics or if we’d like to go on a date when grandma and grandpa are here.

I can tell you that a lot has changed since Julia and Nate were little. It’s hard to believe that’s been 15 and 12 years ago, respectively. This pump is easy to use, comfortable, and quiet. I can remember being so self conscious using the pump I had so many years ago. It was so noisy and cumbersome. This pump was much quieter and very easy to use. The adjustable suction levels made finding a comfortable setting very easy.

    I would keep it! I could really sure a second pump to leave at work. Lugging a pump, a child, diaper bag, and purse around in the morning and evening is such a pain!
