This summer, road trips were so great for our family.
It got us out of the heat. We were away from laundry and dishes and chores for a little while.
We fell in love with each other again as we realized how each of us finds beauty. Some of us are cloud people. Some of us are food people. Some of us are good music on a long drive people.
After the fourth of July parade, we had a beautiful afternoon free. At lunch, we searched for options for an easy hike. We had the stroller for Sebastian, so I needed it needed to be packed dirt trail loops for it to work for everyone. We found the Campbell Mesa Loop Trails online, read the reviews, and set off for an adventure.
Nate was incredible with the stroller. Whenever we would hit a patch of rocks that I couldn’t navigate, he would just pick it up and carry it over without even being asked. I love the young man he has become. He would look at me and could tell that I needed a little break and take over. It was incredibly wonderful not having to explain myself and just be helped.
Oh these sisters. I’m sure Louisa May Alcott would have written many chapters about them if she had known them. They are spunky, smart, kind, brave, musical, and silly. My favorites.
