During Mom and Dad’s rescue mission visit, we had the opportunity to wander the Desert Botanical Gardens. Brian was in Romania for business and they came to be my extra hands and sanity.
As I was looking through pictures, I was lamenting that I’ve been remiss in sharing pictures here. I hope to jump back into sharing more regularly and not letting life get in the way of writing down the beauty in my days.

A few years ago, Dale Chihuly, installed a magnificent exhibit at the Desert Botanical Gardens. As a gift, he left these majestic pieces near the front entrance. You have to see it in person. The light bounces and shines and captivates you as you pass by. It’s incredible to consider how many hours went in to designing and creating and just choosing colors.

We walked slowly and purposefully soaking in the colors of the day. We stumbled across a road runner and pointed him out to everyone that walked by.

I know these times with my parents are precious. Ten years is a long time to live away from them. Ten years is a long time to drive 22 hours to see one another. But God is good.
He shows me again and again that we are supposed to be here, in Phoenix. We were meant to find our Riley. We were meant to live close to his extended family. We are meant to build a family together with his birth mother. We are meant to pave a new way, complete with shaking hands and hopeful hearts.

I’m so incredibly thankful for parents who are willing to join in my zoo and enjoy the colors.
