Disneyland – Day 2

We started the second day at the Storyteller’s Cafe at the Disneyland Grand Californian Hotel.

1. It was very early – wake up at 6:30am.
2. I wasn’t sure about the whole character breakfast thing. I was nervous that Nate would be overwhelmed and that they wouldn’t eat well or at all.
3. I felt bad because I am not a breakfast person – I didn’t want to waste a good breakfast on myself – who is perfectly happy with a starbucks and english muffin at the most.
4. I felt bad because Brian is a breakfast person.
5. I was a little nervous about the kids behaving in front of my mom. You know. They are great. But in a crazy setting when larger than life is happening. We all know anything can go wrong.

I even gave them the ‘Sometimes we do things for other people’ talk. You know the one… ‘Listen, sometimes you do things that you may not necessarily like to do, but you do them because someone loves you very much and is really trying to show you a great time… etc, etc’.

I was so wrong…

The characters were sweet and kind and gentle.

They posed for pictures and signed autographs.

They didn’t skip over anyone and each child felt like they were the only ones in the entire room.

What a great way to start the day! If you go to Disneyland – this is totally worth it – totally. Even if you aren’t a breakfast person. Or a morning person. Or a other people dressed up in costume person. I promise.
