DIY | Create your own vase collection

#MarthaStewart - Kate Eschbach Photography-1

My collection of spaghetti jars, olive oil jars, and empty glass candle holders was getting a little too large to fit in the cabinet, so I decided to get paint out and create something. Do you save your empty jars, too? I have one shelf dedicated to saving these jars. I just can’t bear to throw them away.

I poured acrylic paint into the bottom of the jar and gently tilted the jar sideways.

It was actually relaxing to let the paint just roll from side to side and cover the entire jar.

I let the paint cure for 21 days so that I will be able to use these as vases without worrying about the paint affecting the flowers.

I played with pinks and whites and made each jar a little different.

What colors would you use? I was painting with Julia that day, so pink seemed the right choice for me.

  • Martha Stewart Satin Acrylic Paint
