Glen Rose, Texas

Every year the kiddos have a choice for their birthday celebration. Would they like a birthday party with friends or a family adventure? Family adventures can be a nice dinner out, a movie, a road trip, or whatever they have their heart set on.

This year, Sebastian chose a family adventure. He currently loves all things dinosaurs and wanted to visit Glen Rose and see the dinosaur tracks.

Glen Rose is only about an hour and a half drive for us, so we set out on a family adventure. I love a good day of exploring and losing track of time and water in our shoes.

Time with the family, watching them go their own pace without schedules, hearing their questions and giggles fills up my heart more quickly than almost anything else.

We spent a lot of time at the dinosaur tracks. Sebastian was fascinated. So much has changed since I was younger. They have a sign that shows what probably happened during the dinosaur fight and why the tracks are there. It still amazes me, after all these years!

We found the tracks, walked along the banks of the river, and found the perfect picnic spot. There was a beautiful overlook with picnic benches and a playground. The kids ran back and forth between eating and playing. Brian and I enjoyed the breeze.

We spent about three hours exploring, but the kids could have easily played for longer. We headed home to beat rush hour.

Sebastian, thank you for choosing to do a family adventure. I love exploring with you!
