Gracie Moore…

Julia, Brian’s Mom and I wandered up to Walgreen’s one Saturday…

The most beautiful car I’ve ever seen was in the parking lot.

An original 1931 Ford…perfect condition with Lime Green pinstripe. The owner, Mike, had named her Gracie Moore.

The owner walked out and talked with us for at least twenty minutes. He shared with us that he loves letting young folks crawl through and ask any questions.

Julia sat in the drivers seat and was in heaven. He let her start the car, honk the horn…

He asked Julia what she thought this gate contraption was on the back of the car…

After a few guesses, he showed her that it pulls down.

He said (paraphrasing) that this was many people’s first car. They brought their horse and buggy to the dealership, had a trunk that fit on the buggy and needed a way to take the trunk home.

This contraption made that possible. Amazing… then, our friend said something so inspiring.

“All successful entrepreneurs create connections between their new product and something the consumer is comfortable or familiar with… a bridge to let the customer know that they were thought of and carefully cared for every step of the way.”

Thank you, Mike. We sincerely appreciated your time!

  7. Popping in from Lynnette’s blog. My family loves old cars. My 13 year old daughter asked my husband yesterday if she could show him her dream car. There it was on the computer screen a ’55 Bellaire. He was so proud! I like how you took the time to connect with Mike and learn the story about the car. God bless!

  19. I am visiting from Lynette’s blog. I love old cars too! If I could I would own a 1969 Ford Mustang with baby blue metallic paint and two white pinstripes going up the hood. (Not that I have given it much thought)Also, I love your quiet place. It looks absolutely ideal to snuggle up in the chair and read a good book. Hopefully, when we move I will be able to have my own quiet place. With 2 adults and 2 7 year old boys in a two bedroom condo … quiet is something I have yet to achieve. It was nice getting to know you
