Just writing this down has me absolutely giddy! Nate is at the age where Christmas shopping is not easy. He will be twelve in a few months, and really doesn’t have any big wants. He is a very laid back and satisfied kid. This makes things very easy on me. He loves to go play football in the park with his friends and play computer games. That makes everything very easy until gift time!

The debrief... Using those precious moments when they get home from school-3

We gave Julia a phone a little over a year ago and it has been a lifesaver! I was very reluctant at first, but I have completely changed my mind. We have used her phone as a backup when ours has died, as a way to give her a little more freedom to walk to a friends house, and as a safety measure when she babysits.

We have very strict rules around her phone and she knows it is subject to a search at any time. Becca, over at My Crazy Good Life, has a great series about technology, tweens, and teen if you need any tips on how to set expectations and rules about technology. We used her free printable cell phone contract to go over our expectations.

Today, I need to print out another contract because we bought Nate his own phone for Christmas! I cannot wait to watch him open it, because I know he is going to absolutely flip!

We chose the Walmart Family Mobile plan for him, too. We love this plan because it is not your typical pre-paid service. Walmart Family Mobile is a post-paid service. If you ever need to cancel, the day you cancel is the last day of your service. The kids know that we will cancel their service if there are any breeches to the contract. This also gives Brian and I peace of mind that there will not be a large outstanding bill if we do cancel.
