There is a beautiful African Violet in my office.
The last month, the blooms have been showing their beautiful faces one at a time. I love turning on my lamp each morning to new colorful bursts of pink.
When I was young, my Grandmother Thompson in Corpus Christi, Texas had an entire room of African Violets. An entire bedroom.
There was a small bed and a tall shelf full of different African Violets.
I loved sleeping in that room. I would just stare at the Violets and touch the velvety leaves. She received many awards, wrote articles and gave presentations about these beautiful and fragile plants.
Every time I look up in my office, it catches my eye and I say a little prayer for all of my grandparents. I have three grandparents still living and that makes my heart very, very full.

Insta-Friday photos are taken on the Instagram iPhone app (free) or any other phone pic in all their grainy glory!
I don’t always have my camera with me, but I usually have my phone. The pictures may be blurry or grainy, but I am so glad I have a way to capture the moments through the week that I might forget! It is so fun to sift through them on Friday and remember those little moments throughout the week… usually I find myself with a wide smile as I go through them!
I am @songskatesang on Instagram if you want to follow the feed.
I’m linking up today with Jeannett over at Life Rearranged…
Come on over!
