Luke 1:46-50 And Mary said: My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior, because He has looked with favor on the humble condition of His slave. Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed, because the Mighty One has done great things for me, and His name is holy. His mercy is from generation to generation on those who fear Him.
Earlier this year, a dear friend at MOPS asked me if I would be willing to share my story about miscarriage and adoption. I shyly agreed. I don’t feel like I have a lot to say, but when you are in the middle of a miracle, I think you must at least whisper of His glory.
We scheduled the time to tape and when the day arrived, I had just learned that I was expecting. I was so sick. When I arrived at the taping, I had a sleeve of saltine crackers in one hand and a ginger-ale in the other. It was impossible to hide what was happening. We laughed and cried and prayed about it and the video began to take a little different turn than originally planned.
I shared part of the video before – when we announced our pregnancy. Now, the whole video is ready to be shared. From seven miscarriages, to adoption, to pregnancy, this is My Story. I am so thankful to my friend, Michelle Fortin, for taping and editing this video. I am honored to have this legacy for my family.
I thought of Mary. Her soul proclaimed His greatness. As I stand in the midst of two miracles, Riley’s adoption and our pregnancy with a baby girl, I can’t help but want to tell everyone about it.
