Nate – Winter Formal

Nate’s winter formal was a few weeks ago and he let me take a few pictures when he got home. Goodness, he is such a handsome young man.

This year, Nate has stepped into the role of the oldest at home. He stepped into that role with grace and confidence. Watching him pick up Sebastian and Sebastian hug his neck so tightly, seeing him bend down to listen to Mary Alice’s stories, and hearing him give Riley compliments on a job well done are moments that I never want to forget.

He has volunteered to keep them at home and entertained, so that I can run to the post office without dragging everyone out of the car.

He has sat in the car and sung silly songs with Mary Alice so that I can grab a gallon of milk (or 4) from the store.

I’ve watched him work incredibly hard at school when some subjects come more easily to others. (Sorry, Nate – you probably got that from me.)

He gets excited about our backyard projects and has helped me make huge steps into making it a peaceful place our family can enjoy.

He sings with me in the car and makes up incredible harmonies.

He debates politics with me and we sharpen our arguments on one another.

I don’t want to forget this stage of young-man-ness that goes by so quickly.

I love you, Na-daniel. Mary Alice’s nick name for you might always be my favorite.
