Having Nate home for the summer has made everyone incredibly happy! This week he has been teaching Riley his skateboard tricks. We received these Trick Trainers from ActivLife  and they both agree these make it so much easier to teach and learn skateboard tricks!

This summer is different. Instead of two brothers getting on each other’s nerves and fussing over the little things, I am watching Nate leaning in to spending his summer encouraging and teaching Riley.

Having high school graduates in the house is such a gift. They bring a unique dynamic to the family. When I remember to step back and just watch, I see them shine – vacillating between playing with them as siblings and teaching them as mentors. It’s one of those absolutely unexpected gifts of a large family.
