If you’ve known me for a while, you know I’m a huge Drew Barrymore fan!
I think I saw Never Been Kissed in the theater five times. Ever After is the only acceptable version of Cinderella. And 50 First Dates makes me cry every single time I watch it.
Drew just has this joyful, amazing spirit. I get silly excited every time I talk about her. I know – I’m weird.
She says the most beautiful things and she likes daisies. It’s just that simple.
Did you ever see the documentary My Date with Drew? Ok – so it is about a guy that tries and tries and tries to get a date with Drew and eventually he gets to meet her. She must be the most gracious person and a really good sport!
Ok, anyways. I read in a magazine that she was launching her own beauty line. No, I can’t remember what magazine it was. I was trying hard not to fall or trip on the tread mill at the YMCA.
I just remember being so excited about trying it when it came out. Yesterday, I splurged at Walmart and bought more makeup in one shopping trip than ever before.
I’m pretty sure that if Drew and I ever met in real life we would have an amazing cup of coffee, we’d talk about how much we look alike and then we’d end up eating at a great Mexican restaurant and doing karaoke incognito that night.
We’d talk about body images and being kind to everyone you meet. I’d end up being ok wearing sleeveless shirts and I’d have a renewed boost of energy to random acts of kindness.
So, I don’t post a lot about my style here on the blog, because truth is – I don’t really have much of a style. When I was working full time outside the home, it was black slacks and any top that was clean.
Now, it is jeans and any t-shirt that is clean. Well, at least it is clean until toothpaste or peanut butter is smeared on the shoulder by 9:17am.
Plus, as a photographer, it is so much easier just to hide behind the camera and take pictures of beautiful YOU!
This Drew Barrymore line is the first time I’ve really gotten excited about makeup. I grew up in a little suburb north of Dallas. I was quite the outsider to the caboodles full of makeup in my drill team dressing room. Yes, I’m 38 years old. A little late to the game – but better late than never, right?!
I loved it! The mascara is amazing. Seriously.
You twist it, and it can become three different brushes. Do you remember those super awesome stackable crayon pencils we had? You wrote with red and then you pulled out that part, shoved it in the top of the pencil, and then wrote with purple? Yeah, it’s like that – only better.
So here is the deal – I loved it.
I wore the tinted moisturizer, the zoom in brown black ultimate mascara, and rest on your laurel creme eye shadow. I layered the rose bud kiss stick with the lovely lotus shine on lip gloss wand.
When Brian walked in today, he said, “You look beautiful. You better kiss me.”
Tomorrow, I will paint my nails at nap-time.
Hugs and happy Friday! Click here to check out her beauty line – Flower Beauty!

P.S. Remember – you are never, ever too late to the game! Shine on!
