Riley’s 5th grade classroom has a pet gecko lizard.

I’ve heard about Coco since day 1 – you can’t be too loud (genius Mrs. Williams, genius!), you have to be gentle, and no sudden movements.

Riley began to talk about bringing Coco home over a weekend. I wasn’t exactly sure if this was wishful thinking or really going to happen, but then I got the email.

Yup. A lizard in my home.

The smile says it all!

Riley was so gentle with Coco. He would invite Mary Alice and Sebastian into his room and calmly talk to them about looking at Coco. It was absolutely incredible. After 21 years of parenting, you would think I would no longer be surprised when a kiddo finds a new interest that was no where on your radar.

Well, Coco, you did good. You surprised me and made Riley happy. Good job. We hope to see you again very soon!
