I want to remember how very loved Riley is.

I want to remember that I sat in a room at his school with his educational team and listened to every person talk about how Riley soared the past two years. Riley advanced five reading levels this year. Five. His team has discovered strategies that work for him and built on the amazing foundation that began in Arizona.

His team consists of ten adults who love this wonderful kid to pieces and want him to succeed in life.

I want to remember that he did so well caring for his class pet lizard, Coco,that Brian and I gifted him a leopard gecko for his birthday. Her name is Melody and Riley is so great with her. Somehow we also inherited a friend’s lizard over spring break. So we are now the proud owners of Mango and Melody, the leopard geckos.

I want to remember that we had his birthday party at a trampoline park and he was so incredibly brave! There was a spot on the second floor where you could jump off and land on a stunt mat. Riley jumped over and over with the biggest smile on his face!

 

I love you so much, Riley. I hope and pray that I see that smile more and more!
