This year for Thanksgiving, I am in charge of  the French onion soup stuffed mushrooms and one more side. I have been craving Hash Brown Casserole lately, so I thought I’d try making it before Thanksgiving next week and see if that might be my contribution.

My favorite version of Hash Brown Casserole is at Cracker Barrel. When the Julia and Nate were small, there was a Cracker Barrel right next to our church. We would go to Mass, then they would have an hour of Sunday School. Brian and I would drop them off and head over for breakfast. I think I ate their hash brown casserole every Sunday morning for a year.

As soon as it came out of the oven and was cool enough to eat, I made Brian try a bite – and he agreed – it was very close! It was warm and cheesy and delicious! The perfect side for Thanksgiving. {I’ve got it mom!}

I was able to find the Ore-Ida hash browns at Walmart. They were in the frozen section with other ‘potato’ items.
