Last week, I ordered the CD that Holly from Decor8 blogs to – Au Revior Simone, The Bird of Music.
I was sure that this would accelerate my writing into Shauna Niequist-like beauty. I would listen to it tonight – the opening night of my future. I would bare my soul with sincerity but without too much poetry. I would learn how to spin words into posts that you didn’t want to stop reading.
I decided that I should title this honeymoon phase of ‘dream chasing come true’ something like ‘Dream Exploration’ or ‘Dream Awakening’.
But then I heard that little voice of inadequacy.
What do you have to offer? What do you have to say? You are in a very blessed place in life. Do you really think people want to hear about your smiley world?
Are you comparing yourself to others again? You know that comparison is the thief of joy.
And then, the words began on the CD, “I dream of togetherness.”
So it is that simple, dear friends. Yes, that is what I dream of.
When we moved to Arizona, I wanted togetherness with my Texas family, so I posted more stories of soccer games that you could count.
I still crave that togetherness. My parents were just here last week and my heart misses them so very much.
But now, I crave togetherness with you, too.
I have a feeling these next couple weeks really will resemble some sort of everything-is-perfect honeymoon. I’ll be balancing the huge smile on my face with the whispers of missing those I worked with. I’ll be trying to find my own voice again, but this time – I’ll be finding it with confidence and peace.
I promise make the journey fun and real. I’d love for you to come. Please consider this your dearest formal invitation, complete with hand lettered beauty on the front and a lovely foil sticker on the back to peel off.
With much love and kindness,
Kate
