Last week was fall break for the kids.
Months ago, momma had offered to come stay with the kids during the break. When I gave my two weeks notice, I called and asked if she would still come. Not only did she say yes, she surprised me and dad hopped on the plane, too.
They know me well. They know I would need some sort of exaggerated break so that I could truly close one chapter and begin another.
I see this hesitance to change in Nate, too. When school begins, we have about two weeks of him waking in the middle of the night to crawl in bed with us until morning. Sometimes we all just need someone to tell us that the change is good.
Filling the week with favorite things became my plan.
This would be my punctuated equilibrium.
Prescott was our first stop.
Mom and I sat in the rose garden at Sharlot Hall and just watched the butterflies.
I’ll tell you more tomorrow!
