12 years seems to be a significant number throughout my life.
There are 12 years between Nate and Mary Alice, when we were told having children was impossible.
There are 12 years that called Arizona our home.
And now, 12 years completes my photography business journey.
12 years ago, Brian bought me my very first DSLR camera – a Nikon D40. In March of 2010 I had the kids dress up in their Easter outfits and we headed out for what would be my first photoshoot.
I’ve considered restarting my business since we’ve moved back to Texas. I’ve had a few photoshoots that I completely enjoyed, but I have peace about laying this down with open hands. The Lord is asking me to focus on other things right now, and if I’ve learned anything, it is that the faster I obey, the faster He shows me what is next.
My photography site will stay live so that clients can still find pictures they’d like to print and access. (One of my favorite things is seeing a husband order a random print for Valentine’s Day!)
To everyone that I was blessed enough to photograph, thank you. Thank you for letting me in, to a part of your story.
I love you all, and you will always have a very special place in my heart! It was an honor to snuggle your newborns, see grooms smile at his beautiful bride, witness dear friends take vows and become priests, and watch seniors in high school talk about their future with eyes full of dreams.
This job was an absolute dream because I really love people and I really love their stories.
To anyone reading this, please do me a favor and get pictures with your family! You’ll be so glad you did.
