Here in the desert, we are bracing for summer. Most people are saying that we are in our last week of beautiful spring weather and those hot temps are coming fast.

I wanted to take you on a walk around my neighborhood before we enter our summer hibernation.

These trees – they make me so happy. Right at Easter they erupt with this lovely purple. Guess what their name is? Texas Laurel! That makes me happy x 2.

I hope that you have a wonderful week!

What is it like in your neck of the woods?

  1. Those trees and plants are so pretty! And so very different than what we have here! It’s still very much spring here… highs in the mid 70’s. It’s funny you hibernate in the summer… I hibernate in the winter! Ha!

  2. I just happened to run across your blog, Kate. I love it! I am also a Texas gal now living in AZ and I have been wondering what those beautiful lavender trees are called. That makes my heart happy too!

    • Welcome to Arizona! I’ve been here almost five years now and I’ve fallen in love with it!

  3. Love those purple trees! They are my faves. And, I have that very pair of shoes! 🙂

    • Do you really?! That is too funny!

  4. I L-O-V-E the desert! I was born in northern AZ, just by the border of Nevada and didn’t appreciate it when I was a kid, but since being an adult have absolutely fallen in love with it and just can’t even imagine living anywhere else. One word: bougainville! They grow so beautifully here! (And I’m in Yuma, too where there’s TONS of farms, so I feel like we kinda get the best of both worlds!)

    • Absolutely! It grows on me every single day! Thank you so much for stopping by!

  5. pour me a cup of coffee. I’m ready for my walk.
