We continued our trip North and stopped in Williams, AZ (Great advice, Melissa!). Williams is an old Route 66 town with a ton of character and a great diner!

This was one of those weekends I really enjoyed the kids. I didn’t feel rushed or frustrated. I need to remember that more often – going their pace is so much easier than forcing mine!

Seriously, I am in love with Route 66. The idea of taking it slow and wandering off the highway captivates me. I get it – efficiency is good, progress is good. But I never want to forget our roots as a country. I never want to bypass how hard it was for people to settle in these mountains. I never want to cease being amazed at the rugged-ness of this land.
